ABOUT US

The JPs FNQ GROUP (Group) is a legally registered, autonomous and, not-for-profit (NFP Community Service Organisation) entity that was formed with the full co-operation and support of identified FNQ Shopping Centre Managements.

The Group takes all of its legislative responsibilities extremely seriously and, to this end, has included within its Constitution 'Australian Privacy Principles' (APPs) specifically to protect clients & individual JPs' personal information, and, strictly abide by adopted 'Collection and Disclosure' provisions of the Privacy Act 1988. 

The Group currently provides community access to the FREE services by volunteer Justices of the Peace at six (6) JP Service Centres in FNQ Shopping (Community) Centres: Cairns Central, Manunda (Raintrees), Redlynch Central & Sentinel DFO (Westcourt) and Woree (Calanna Whole Health Pharmacy)

The Group also operates the Cairns Mobile: JP Service Centre which is specific for residents or patients with a Mobility Impairment residing in a local residence, hospice or hospital. Group members are highly trained and qualified to witness and certify an extensive amount of legal documents and other services that include, but not limited to:

Witnessing:

          Advanced Health Directives 

         Administering Oaths and Affirmations

          Wills (Last Will & Testament) 

In addition, the JPs FNQ GROUP: 

Is a legally registered Not-For-Profit entity with the Australian Business Register (ABR) and holds a current Australian Business Number (ABN 48 875 337 460) 

Has a current QBE Public Liability Insurance Policy to the value of twenty million dollars ($20,000,000) with a copy of the       Certificate of Currency held by each JP Service Centre location.

Group volunteer Justices of the Peace will at all time abide by their Sworn 'Oath of Office' and, strictly adhere to the Justices of the Peace and Commissioners for Declarations Code of Conduct (Justices of the Peace and Commissioners for Declarations Act 1991) 

The Group has mandatory obligations under the Privacy Act 1988. 

Provides professional JP services by fully trained and duly registered JPs direct to FNQ Centre Managements as an integral part of each Centre's Community Support Initiative 

JP Service Centres maintain site coordination by the Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader, both of who preserve mutual respect and cooperation with Centre Managements via regular liaison. 

Prepares and distributes JP Service Centre monthly rosters utilising the professional services of local resident JPs.

Provide JP resources, including but not limited to JP Manuals and other relevant items of material, bi-annual local 'Professional Development Workshops', advertising initiatives including Local & National website presences, all of which without unnecessary bureaucratic intervention or financial burden on the Queensland taxpayers. 

Actively encourages Group members to hone their JP skills by volunteering at opportune Group participation locations for additional professional training with 'live' legal documents.

Has the full confidence and support of aligned FNQ Centre Managements which has been as a direct result of personal interactions with local JPs over many years and, these valuable relationships are vigorously maintained.

The JPs FNQ GROUP continuously builds on our working relationships with aligned FNQ Centre Managements through mutual respect and cooperation.

In conclusion, the JPs FNQ GROUP is comprised of dedicated volunteer Queenslanders who take their Justice of the Peace role as a serious responsibility by providing their acquired JP skills for the benefit and service to their local community.
